Menopause Day 2023

Wednesday 18th October 

9am – 10:30am: Cardiovascular Disease and Menopause with Dr Clair Crockett (GP and Menopause Specialist): The theme for this year’s World Menopause Day is Cardiovascular Disease – Clair will be talking to us about this and also the impact for those who have medical/surgically induced menopause. There will also be an opportunity for general questions in regards to perimenopause and menopause.

11am – 12pm: Menopause myth busting for men (but everyone welcome) with Dr Andrew Coward (GP): An informal session with GP, Andrew, to provide information in regards to menopause and how to support people with their menopausal symptoms. We are really keen to encourage male colleagues to attend this session to bust any myths they have around menopause but it is open to all. 

12pm – 1pm: Managers/Supervisors – Supporting your Staff with Perimenopause and Menopause with Kate Leese (Health and Wellbeing Lead) and Katie Walker (HR Advisor): An opportunity to understand more about perimenopause and menopause and how you can best support you colleagues/staff. This will include information regarding reasonable adjustments and where to signpost for support.

Thursday 19th October

1pm – 2pm: Body Confidence in Menopause with Jo Gaffney (Occupational Therapist and Body Confidence Coach): Changing style or styling change? Maintaining body confidence through menopause.

3pm – 4pm: Menopause and Mental Health with Ellie Gibbs (Advanced clinical Practitioner): Understanding the impact perimenopause and menopause can have on mental health and where to get support.

Friday 20th October 

10am – 11:30am: Lived experience of Perimenopause and Menopause: With contributions from a variety of staff working across the Trust in regards to how perimenopause and menopause have impacted them. This will include staff who have supported others with their journey through menopause as well as those who have been impacted directly.
